I have the same problem so I switched to ubuntu until I solved it with win. The 8 for me is a big piece of crap but if I still paid for it I will continue to use it. As far as I know, any laptop has the possibility of creating a "recovery" disk which is actually the iso image of the operating system, only in my case and I think yours also needs a space of at least 32 giga, ie about 8 DVD. after these dvds you can repair or reinstall this crap called windows 8.
