I would not be deluded that leaving XP by default I will learn English (as I hear this explanation to many) because you do NOT learn it is just a technical English "computer" limited in some terms and that's it. for a while, for a while I used the LIP and I can say that I enlightened myself here and there on some terms and even explanations that I did not "intuit" correctly from English. In conclusion I would recommend the LIP not only to the elderly but also to a beginner at least for a shorter or longer period of time because you wonder in many ways.

There are two main formats, DVD-R/RW and DVD + R / RW.
The R part means it will write the disk once and read many times, RW is read / write or rewritable so you can write over the data you've already recorded. There's not much difference between the plus and minus formats and they're pretty much as popular as each other. You do have to ensure if you have a –R / RW drive that you buy –R / RW disks and with a + R / RW drive you must use + R / RW disks. There are now multi-format or combo drives that will write to just about every combination of disk and formats, and this might be an option to consider. If you need to choose between DVD + RW and DVD-RW, then the former has some benefits over the latter when used in a computer for data backup.
