Thank you very much for this tutorial. For about 2 years I have been trying to learn how to make such a CD. Now I've succeeded and I'm happy (no, I'm starting to talk in lyrics…) Here's how I did it: First of all I have to tell you that I use XPPro SP3.
1. I downloaded Acronis true image (the one for 15 days) and with the help of torrents I "lengthened" it
2. We developed and followed a tutorial 3 times. In this way I found that I do not have all the settings as they say in tutorial.Am I just picked what I thought as I need. (I've never done that partition to secure areas)
3.Am made backup C drive where I OS programs and a cart, a director of D which I named My Backup.
4.L've burned (not to make cdimage) on a CDR.
5.Am rebooted holding down F8 where we chose to bota optiunesa on CDROM.
6.Enter si… Uraaaa! The restoration of partition C started. My dears, it went perfectly, absolutely everything as it was without any mistakes. Restoring with the first two methods also works perfectly, but, as Mr. Cristi says, the one after the CD is the best method. Now I can format the C, reinstall the system and then do this restore from the CD and I have the PC as it was in the beginning.
I can say that I got rid of the problem every time. From now on I will do from time to time (if necessary) an Incremental backUp and that's it. I advise you to be patient and watch these wonderful tutorials even several times, do not rush as haste spoils the job… If a top of these tutorials should be made (so far) I would vote for this one for the first place. @Cochin ovidiu: NTLDR is part of the boot sector, did you somehow ruin the boot sector by that restore, what is the boot sector? boot sector means the first files that windows reads when it starts / boots, so… you did the restore properly, you either made a mistake in the way you backed up or you made a mistake in the way you restored! you don't have much to do… what I recommend is to reinstall windows!

My advice is:
1 empty partition D and put the files in W or F
2 Make a backup with Acronis True Image C that you store on W and F (we have a tutorial using true image)
3 you install Acronis Disk Director (we and this tutorial) and increases the C-site (not before as I said backup point 2)
Now you can sit without worrying that you have a backup of the system.
Acronis Disk Director open and right click delete partition D Delete (which should be empty) then how do you increase the C partition and right click Resize, then you Mr. back with how you have left, close the application and then ask you if you want to make changes you have scheduled, click OK and after that you do.

I found this site when looking for tutorials for Acronis True Image Home 2009 when I saw that I said Bingo has video!
After watching the tutorial I tried to make a backup I made the backup exactly as in the tutorial…. only I was interested in doing the restoration from behind…. and I also made bootable rescue media (unlike the size you had u in the tutorial adik a little over 100 mb I had only 62 mb…. I thought maybe it's because of the installed programs) after I made this disk I give it a restart and let's restore it…. only it doesn't work.
I also tried in another way that I saw in another tutorial, namely to put the tib on the dvd and make the boot sequence this thing is done from tools options default backup options to media components has there 2 variant one click restore si full version of acronis on media…. so far I tried the first one I said (the one with one click restore)…. but also after creating the backup which also has the boot sequence it gives me an error after the acronis starts, namely error cannot restore the original configuration….

Some time ago, someone brought me a "new" 320G hard drive. Based on the fact that it is new, I put it on the system and when I had to format it I found with amazement that the windous does not see than 90G. I thought it was a mistake and I kept repeating the format n times. In the end I resigned myself and I thought I was fooling myself, giving me a smaller hard drive. In a moment of inspiration I decided to go in with the partition manager to actually see how much hard drive capacity he sees there. The surprise was huge. I see 90G allocated and the difference of about 230G I see as unallocated. I realized that this hard drive had previously been used more than likely in a raid and so I followed exactly the steps that Adrian and Cristi described to you and I solved the problem. Giving "delete" to the unalocated partition, automatically the program allocated these approximately 230G, to the initial partition of 90 G so that I got to have 320G. Your confusion I think stems from the fact that you want to permanently delete these 6G which is inappropriate to say. By deleting these 6Gs, they will be automatically assigned to the D partition you are referring to. When you want to delete them, the program will warn you that you will lose all data, etc.…. It's true that I can't guarantee that you have data on partition D, everything will be intact, because in my case, the hard drive was completely empty, but it's the only possible solution to your problem. But I know someone who tested a hard drive with data on he and following the steps indicated by Cristi and Adrian did not lose the data. I have Windows 7 installed and a few partitions (enough), I made some backups to the old Windows XP some time ago in about 3-4 months. Good. I installed Acronis 2010 on Windows 7 and started to recover the systems on some partitions. It recovers them "successfully" but the problem is that the startup screen does not recognize them at all. I tried all kinds of recoveries, as files / folders and even like the whole partition but in vain. At one point I had ruined Windows 7 without wanting to be obvious and after great efforts with a bootable stick I managed to recover it.
So finally I want to know: How can I recover a Windows XP so I can enter it in the boot screen's? If you can, obviously. Or can not because of Windows 7?

You want a lot, what you want is a forced dual boot which is not possible, to have dual boot, you first put the XP on a partition (you put it in the sense that you install it properly, normal installation, no backup restore as you did) and then after you have finished installing the xp with drivers with everything, insert the cd with Windows 7 and install it but when you get to the partitions and it asks you where to install it choose another partition than the one that is already XP, and so you did a dual boot. If you are in a hurry then leave it at another time… when you will have time, and we are just as in a hurry and we are no less busy than you. We all have our things I have said before and I repeat it, if you don't have time to do something don't do it anymore, everything you do requires documentation and information and I don't know why but I don't believe your statement that you didn't have time, but just lazy to read as you all have, you want a lot, everything for free but without reading or informing yourself but if you could come under your nose, you just give a single click is it? I installed Acronis True Image Home 2010 on multiple PCs and all installation shortly after an error (Runtime Error!) and in that window writes:
“Error code 0x00000002: The system cannot find the specified file”
and I can't get rid of this error. I give ok and it keeps reappearing…
