I have 1 gb ram memory. I installed ramdisk and made a 200 mb partition on which I installed mozilla and vlc media player (because I start a little "older"). I expected these 2 programs to respond faster, but unfortunately I found that all programs are harder for me, so I decided to uninstall ramdisk. Most likely you have an operating system on 32 bit. 32 bit systems can use and see more of 3 GB or so. To use all 4 GB of RAM you should have an operating system on 64 bit but it supposed to have a processor capable of 64 bit.
