Hello Cristi! A friend of mine has a pretty big problem and I want you to tell me if there is any solution. Yesterday my friend got mad clean their PC and walked to the processor to put it down and when cooler and aluminum radiator was stuck due to thermal paste, fired up and came out with all processor cooler and stayed glued to the aluminum radiator that. He struggled to put out the processor as the failed processor then managed to peel off the aluminum radiator, but he managed realized that broke a few pins on the processor. Standing stock cooler heatsink that was not original processor was hell of big clump of thick radiator especially where it makes contact with the CPU. I changed it to the service which led PC in the past, he does not know why it has not in the original. Do you think you go straighten those pins? I think that one processor is good to give away. Friend asked me if I could help fix it. Hardware Compatibility Information of iATKOS ML and Mac OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2:
CPU:
- Intel Core2Duo and newer processors are supported.
- 64bit capability aka EM64T is required for Mountain Lion which means that Intel Core Duo and older 32bit-only Intel processors are not supported.
- AMD CPUs cannot be supported. Maybe another release, maybe another lifetime.
Motherboard:
- Please read carefully and do not continuously ask questions about your motherboard compatibility.
- Simply, chipsets from 945G to C606 are supported. Common chips are 945, 965, 975, P35, P43, P45, P55, G31, G41, G43, X58, H61, HM65, HM67, H67, P67, Z68, Z77, X79, C602 and C606.
- Besides the main chipset model, a motherboard has many components. Every component itself may or may not be compatible and may even be problematic for Mountain Lion. Also, BIOS of the motherboard may be problematic to run Mountain Lion. Because of these reasons, some motherboards will not be able to run this OS easily, some of them will need hard efforts in order to make it partially work and some of them will never run it. that is, it does not support only 64bit intel.
