Double click on directvobsub as Cristi did in the tutorial and at General you choose the extend to 16: 9 option and at Text Settings you click on the respective font and again where Screen Alignment & Margins says you put Bottom: 0. I chose the Comic Sans Ms font and text size 20.

First, I would argue (as I wont), and even correct you:
No need to install any codecs package. Screw up the system with these great packages. Well I install exactly what you need:
1. Install Haali Media Splitter for MKV container films
2. Install DirectVobSub subtitle
3. Full AC3Filter installed for DTS. WMP12 knows how to play the DTS encoded soundtracks. Once you have installed, enter the settings AC3Filter and leave checked only the DTS system tab
4. The problem is that WPM12 is closed to third party codecs. In other words, you just installed what I wrote above, that WMP12 will refuse to use them. This is what Win7DSFilterTweaker is used for (you only use it for the first time, when you "configure" WMP12. After you have done your job with it, you can delete it.) Start Win7DSFilterTweaker, click on the Media Foundation button, and on the left, at media foundation (32-bit) ”make sure the entire column is checked. Apply & Close.
So that is the whole trick. WMP12 remaining codecs are also included (compatible movies and WMV Hardware Acceleration MP4 (H264). Do not have to install anything extra.
But I have to mention something: DirectVobSub "undo" video acceleration. DirectVobSub is a filter that "processes" he whole picture (not only subtitle). Thus hinder CPU.
To convinde, you can try the following experiment:
1. Get an 1080p film H264.MP4 quite demanding and have beside him and subtitle. Related srt. Turn it WMP12 and monitor CPU usage for 20 seconds, say.
2. Close WMP12. Delete the file. SRT next film. The idea is that the movie is on again, subtitling should no longer load automatically. In fact, DirectVobSub not restart. I did it differently, I don't know if it's the best method, but the results are good. The first time I installed coreavc (it is quite easy to find on torrents). After that I installed klite codec pack, I followed the standard settings (the only change… unchecking the toolbars). From what I notice, coreavc automatically integrates into windows media player and bsplayer. To be used in kmplayer, you must enter the settings — internal video codecs — and uncheck h264 and avc1. Coreavc also works in combination with the vobsub filter (windows media player 11 windows xp). For possible wmv files at 1920 × 1080 I use the classic home cinema media player (it has support for accelerating the video card for h264-based videos as well as for wmv). Only you will have to enter the settings of this player —— playback — output — - and choose a renderer that has DXVA support (I use VMR9 renderless). In principle, HD WMV files are not so demanding in terms of resources used and theoretically could be played without the support of video card acceleration.

But in some cases, such as rendering high-resolution files of WMV clips or those based on h264 (mp4, mkv, mov, m4v, f4v) - the task could be quite difficult for the processor. Therefore, in the case of older generation processors, rendering would either not be possible (locks, jerks, desynchronization of sound with image) or would be possible, but with the price of a fairly high consumption of resources (the processor can be loaded at over 70 -80%). So why not take the video card forward? Let's get it to process these files and take the weight off the processor. Alas… how hard it can be. When you install klite codeck pack and get hardware acceleration to h264 and vc1 choose “native dxva2 video LAV”. However, as far as I know dxva2 is not available if you use windows xp as your operating system. If you are using Xp, choose MPC-hc internal dxva decoder. So much so that this option will only be valid if you use the "media player classic home cinema" player that comes integrated with this codec pack. Other players cred don't think they will be able to use this decoder. You will also need to enter the settings of this player –– play – output –- and choose a renderer that has DXVA support (I use Video mixing renderer 9 renderless). You can easily tell if MPC-HC uses DXVA mode… in the lower left after "playing" and write DXVA. If it doesn't write DXVA then hardware acceleration is not used — either because the video card is not compatible — or because you did something wrong.
An alternative to what Cristi presented would be to search on Korean torrents (commercial codec). It also has support for cuda technology (nvidia boards) as well as for directx video acceleration technology (nvidia boards plus you have amd). However, from what I've noticed… coreavc kisses better with nvidia cuda, in dxva mode you may need to make different settings depending on each player… this to avoid errors)

On Windows 7, both Windows Media Player and Media Center make use of the Media Foundation framework INSTEAD of DirectShow for playing Certain file types. As a result, DirectShow subtitle filters like DirectVobSub is not used. Media Foundation Lacks Many common native support for subtitle formats.
Media Foundation is used for the GMT file types: AVI, WMV, MP4, MOV, 3GP, M2TS.
In case of AVI files, subtitles Will be displayed if DirectVobSub is installed. Media Foundation has a special workaround to make That Possible.
For the other file formats Mentioned above You Need to disable Media Foundation in order to be Able to get subtitles. You can do that with the Win7DSFilterTweaker That tool is included with the codec pack. INSTEAD OF disabling Media Foundation, Also what works in most Cases is to disable the Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder. You Can Also do that with the Win7DSFilterTweaker tool.
If you have trouble getting DirectVobSub to load external subtitles for When ffdshow or LAV is set as preferred decoder H.264, THEN try setting the preferred decoder back to Microsoft. That May Help. The recommended setting is in Win7DSFilterTweaker USE MERIT. That allows using ffdshow or LAV, Because They have a higher merit as the Microsoft decoder, while at the same time allow loading of DirectVobSub.
We recommend using Media Player Classic for video playback. That is capable of displaying subtitles without the Need for all kinds of special workarounds.
An alternative for DirectVobSub would be the Local Subtitles for WMP plugin for WMP12. That also works with Media Foundation. We haven’t tested it so we can’t provide any support for it, nor can we say how well it works. Don't forget to disable DirectVobSub (with the Codec Tweak Tool) to prevent double subtitles in some situations.
