Create Live USB stick Ubuntu 11.04 with persistence cache (keep the settings even after restart) - video tutorial

Hello friends, in today's tutorial we will learn how to create a bootable USB stick with persistent cache that will contain the Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal operating system. You're probably wondering what "persistent", persistent cache or persistence cache means. Well a bootable stick with persistent cache will do so so that if we run Ubuntu in Live mode and install different applications or download files, it will save the installed applications or downloaded files. Thus, if we remove the stick and then reinsert it into the computer and boot from it in Live mode, due to persistent memory it will remember the installed applications, settings made or files created or saved on the Desktop. Basically we will have a portable operating system on a USB stick with all our favorite applications, with all the settings and documents we are working on. The stick can be run on any computer, netbook, notebook. The advantage is that it does not require installation on the hard disk but will run directly from the USB stick, will not affect the computer hard disk or the operating system already existing on it. The biggest advantage is of course portability! Being on a USB stick we will be able to take it with us everywhere and we will be able to run it on any computer.
All we need to create a persistent USB stick that will contain 11.04 Ubuntu operating system is a USB stick (4G or higher recommended) and an ISO image or a CD with Ubuntu Natty Narwhal 11.04.

I say look at that tutorial more carefully and without scrolling. You got it totally wrong! If you don't understand it, you look again and again until you understand. the thing with XP was about something completely different, not the fact that the extension pack and the USB don't work…

  3. I can confirm that the win7 x64 with Universal-USB-Installer-1.8.4.6 bootbalil I could do a stick of 2 1 gb gb with persistence cache.

I did not know that other Linux distributions can keep the settings after restart. I was using a USB stick with NimbleX (a Linux distribution "made" in Romania).
    PS
If possible, make a videotutorial and about NimbleX?

Short and to the point: to install Windows 7 stick or not!?
DO NOT place that is on that stick and install by booting from the stick.Acum see if professionals in hard-soft jump to the head!
Excuse my harshness but I searched all over the net and I found only Fakes.

7 can install Windows on a USB external hard drive but it must be at least 16G. I unfortunately do not have a stick so roomy yet so can not help with a tutorial yet. I'm not sure if it will work on a USB stick 32G (do not see why it would not work).

Thanks for the information ... wait windows 9 like that is "technology" on linux ... and breathe linux from windows in our behalf.

Romanian grammar hard with this! Yes and no antivirus called: Clam is good and does the job, but if correctly configured firewall (firewall) you do not need unless you download bullshit on the net that is attached exe programs.

Write in Google HP format tool, press Enter and download small applications, formats the stick with that tool and see if it resolves.

Merge made directly 7 win. Problems with wireless. Interestingly, in this way you can access the hard drive and collect files even if you have the Windows password. So you could save almost everything in case you do not know the password. Pluses-running very quickly on the stick. If so will go and win8 will be great.

Yes, says the SEARCH box in sidebar, top right: how to make a live cd windows or how to make a live cd with Windows, press ENTER and you will find the tutorial.

  24. Thanks for the tutorial! Question: (1) how to save programs, settings, etc.. 10.04 Ubuntu already installed on the computer? More specifically: to qualify for resettlement anterioare.Am settings or programs that can understand, making separate partition for "Home". Is there another way?
    (2) settings in Ubuntu 10.04 may apply all or part of the 12.04?

  25. I installed on a USB stick version of Ubuntu 12.04 live without persistent cache and works very fine. But when I stick with persistent cache or from Windows using UNetbootin 575 be using Disk Creator in Ubuntu, go hard. Buteaza hard, hard moves after botar. Anyone know what the problem is?
Without persistent cache 40 boots in seconds.

  26. I searched the site and this article is the nearest you'd like it: you can make a bootable stick from which to install ubuntu but keep me all the things you have already made a Ubuntu 12.04 ready installed?
I have an Ubuntu installed with Wubi in Windows 12.04 7. Windows 7 went and reinstalled but I do not want to waste my time again restoring and Ubuntu, so we are looking for a solution to help me make a bootable Ubuntu stick 12.04 already installed and that I keep all applications, modifications, and tuning settings already made sites. And because I want this time, Ubuntu ext4 be on a separate partition, I wonder if it is possible to do this job without losing everything changed for me at the cost of hours of searching on the forums.
    Is it possible? Thank you.

  27. Thank videotutorial.ro team, we are very helpful.
