Customize the means to make something look as you want by customizing a thing or why not even an operating system people reflect their personality, customize the thing that we want to represent us or speak as well what we are.
In this tutorial I chose to talk about how we can customize and install new themes in Windows 7. If versions of Windows XP or Vista that was not available to everyone and it was a pain for beginners because the operating system does not come with many options to customize Windows 7 here was slightly redesigned. Now the new Windows 7 comes with a lot of options to be able to customize not to mention the multitude of themes and gadgets that you can download from the http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/downloads / Custom
What customization options we have in Windows 7?
Well, with a simple right click on the Desktop and then on "Personalize" we will access a window containing 7 themes that Windows 7 comes with
We have a "Get more themes online" button that with a simple click on it we can download a multitude of themes for Windows 7. As far as we know Windows XP came with only 3 large and wide themes (Silver, Green, Blue) without the possibility of to download other themes.
With a click on "Windows Color" in the "Personalization" window we can choose from 16 colors that we can apply to the edge of the windows
By checking or unchecking the box "Enalbe transparency" we can set the edges of the windows to be transparent or not
If we want we can set or adjust the color intensity by dragging left or right the slider "Color intensity"
A click on "Show color mixer" will give us the opportunity to "mix" and play with, the colors of the windows or why not create our own colors for them.
Now that I have clarified what customization options we have in Windows 7, I would like to add that we can also install themes that are not "developed" or made by Microsoft. If we want to install a theme made by third parties, things get a little complicated because we have to patch some files, more precisely a few .dlls (system libraries) with the help of a utility called Universal Theme Patcher. This utility allows us to patch both Windows XP and Vista or Windows 7 and is very useful when the themes we download contain custom shell32.dll files. The Shell32.dll file is a file that contains, among other things, indications and icons that the operating system has. By replacing this .dll with a modified one we can benefit from new icons for hard drive, for My computer and so on. It is also very possible that the new themes come with Fonts that we install very easily by simply copying and pasting in the C: \ Windows \ Fonts folder. That being said, I leave you to watch this tutorial.

Yes, Windows XP only do the same, looking themes for Windows XP not Windows 7. System does not hinder shell themes. Hampers themes are those themes that installs through some kind WindowsBlind software, or genre comes in kit form or vista vista mizer inspired these themes besides installing your themes, icons and services that will run all the time to maintain theme or activate transparency in windows for example, different docks and gadgets. I highly recommend subjects shell when it comes to customization are the light and you do not install services to maintain the theme.

What happened to you on that "edge around the icons when selecting" ??? is it really that important? I honestly don't like it at all, I don't like it at all. Come on I understand… do you want a windows 7 theme for XP, a cursor, icons, or I don't know what else… but do you want a MARGIN that doesn't help you in any way and doesn't matter at all? It may be customization but not really… XP is XP and 7 is 7, you can make them look the same but never identical, you can make them look like you can't make them identical because otherwise there would be no more systems different operating conditions… would be one with multiple customization configurations and that's it.

right click on the bar and see that "Lock the taskbar" is unchecked, then drag and drop it and take it up or wherever you want. In XP at least that's how it's done.

It's not nice how you ask, but I think I can help you. PTR xp there are over 200 themes that you can find on the net or you can take them out of a modified xp image (customized) especially in appearance. By installing them you can change those icons. You can also by right-clicking on a folder-> properties-> customize-> choose from the list, or by installing tune up 2010 -> visual style, (animation and effect) -> add-> download visual style from tuneup online. I'm sure you'll find something that will satisfy you.

Have you applied the theme I aratato me in tutorial? Did you have UAC enabled when you patch look WinXP as shown by UniversalTheme Patcher? (If you do not know what's that UAC and what I mean see last tutorial posted by cristi on the home page the category Latest)
