For those who use Norton Antivirus on your laptop, there is the option Power Saving Mode located in the Settings menu> General> Other Settings. Power Saving Mode makes antivirus antivirus to stop all actions that are not critical to save battery and your laptop battery.

I have an OCZ Vertex SSD 3 and I have noticed a slow down .... It really is very good and doing chores unnoticed. Do not bother too much with the exception notification on Firefiox browser.
