After you have solved it with the settings in the router from the section Dynamic Dns you have to make a Virtual Server or Port Forwarding for the Ip of the computer you want to wake up, even if we have only one PC you still have to do Port Forwarding for port “9” on the “UDP” protocol, the IP for which Virtual Server (port forwarding) is to be made should look something like this: 192.168 ……

I went to the other computer - on a desktop - which is connected to that Alcatel SpeedTouch modem router, on a Romtelecom connection and using the application recommended by you: WOL Magic Packet Sender, I managed to start the laptop without the slightest problem, in both situations: with its lid open and the lid closed! It can be done directly on the router set to have static IP (until the power is off) entering INTERNET MANUAL SETUP and choose the option ALWAYS CONNECT MODE SELECT.
