I reinstalled yesterday * GHO image with Hirens Boot CD. After trying this a few times by then and fail, it gave me an error corrupted image.

You should try to use a "recovery format" that you find on torrents without money.
To have good results in recovery have to put your hard drive on another system and scan it there because when you try to install something it is possible to rewrite yourself over what you want to retrieve.
You also need to prepare a free space on another hard disk where you can pour everything that finds a & a recovery format, the free space must be the same size or larger than the files you want to recover.

Recovery is often a lottery, however you can use for your case the software "O&O Format Recovery", it is possible to find something but no one can guarantee it.

1. I deleted with CTRL + ALT + DEL a picture file - it was recovered in proportion of 99%
