I followed the tutorial and made a Win To Go on an external hard drive of 80 Gb-usb 2.0, a bit older but well maintained. Windows works as if it were internal.
I tested it on 3 computers: 2 laptops and a desktop, and it all works perfectly.
I have two questions:
1. I only start this windows from the external hard drive if I insert it in the PC beforehand when I open windows 7 and then restart, otherwise if I put the hard drive directly without the PC being open and then I open, everything goes out after 5 seconds. Does the same happen to you?
2. Does anyone have any idea how to use it on a PC that does not have the option to boot from 'external device' or 'usb' in the bios? I tried poplar boot manager and it didn't work.

You use Virtualbox or VMware Player to install Windows 8 Enterprise and could make an external hard drive with Windows 8.
VirtualBox and VMware Player are some virtual machines (both free) that will allow you to run two operating systems simultaneously different or identical.

I installed with WIN to Go, a WIN8 on an SSD, using a WIN8 on a desktop. Then I tried to boot WIN8 from the SSD, as an external drive of an ACER ASPIRE 5920 laptop. Everything went perfectly, only the keyboard that WIN8 sees from the SSD is missing some characters, as if it had overlapped PS2 keyboard with numeric pad over laptop keyboard, which has no numeric pad. The 'I' key becomes 5, the 'O' key becomes 6, and so on. I guess the rule is that if you created a Win to Go from a desktop with a PS2 numeric pad keyboard, you can only boot on a PC with the same keyboard configuration. I think it should have been emphasized that a WIN8 created with Win to Go uses only the resources of a PC from which it boots, without having access to the data on this PC. I mean, I take with me only the external HDD with WIN8 created with Win to Go and I'm looking for a system to "tick", to express myself in current terms. I'm waiting for comments.
