Hi friends, today we learn how to use Adobe Premiere Pro and also to use video card for playing, editing and rendering fluency video content without CPU load.
The Mercury Playback Engine was introduced in Abobe Premiere Pro to allow users to use the video card for something other than gaming. In the tutorial I showed live what are the differences between running software and accelerated hardware with video cards, which are able to provide "tons" of performance for free.
The first time I read about Mercury Playback Engine I say it is another marketing strategy designed to squeeze us money. Fortunately it is real as possible, about my performance Amazed. Unfortunately at the moment there is no ATI / AMD supported on Windows, Mac, however, some models are supported. Surely soon they will be supported on the Windows platform and AMD motherboards but for now only the owners of Nvidia GeForce GT 8500 up are lucky.
Beyond the performance of the Mercury Playback Engine, the purpose of the tutorial is to "help" Adobe Premiere Pro to recognize our video card (Nvidia GTX 460). Normally this board is not supported, in fact there are few GeForce boards that are officially supported many of the supported boards are Quadro and Tesla (professional video cards).
The point is simple, we must introduce in the list of supported cards (cuda_supported_cards) and our board. Normally we can not do that because we do not have write permissions on the file that, fortunately we can fix the little hop with Notepad launched with Administrator privileges.
Plate right we can get to work. It's a delight to see how it changes everything in real time with no lag, no problems, without blockages, even under your eyes while running the file (1080p @ 24Mbps), while it can also run something in the background, a mass a browser, stuff like that, nothing hard.

You nvidia driver with support for CUDA? If you're not, install the latest driver Nvidia Cuda and that has certainly support.

Andrei, install your GPU-Z program, run it and look at the information if the box where it says "CUDA" is checked. If it is you can write the name of the card that notepad file, if you can't still write it, but it won't work with Adobe Premiere Pro 🙂
