CD DVD burning programs on Linux, Nero, Brasero Disk Burner - video tutorial

Hi friends, in today's tutorial you'll learn together how to install Nero native version for Ubuntu Linux, and how to make a bootable CD using the Ubuntu Linux operating system. When it comes to CD recording software for Linux does not sit too well in this respect. Therefore we decided to make this tutorial to somehow come to a solution to this shortcoming that it has Linux. Brasero Disc Burner or CD / DVD Creator have all sorts of problems when we want to use a CD / DVD rewritable or you want to copy an audio CD. One solution would be to install software K3B libraries but unfortunately it uses Qt and KDE interface and if you opt to install it we wake up with full KDE desktop installed on our PC with Ubuntu. Besides it will install all sorts of unnecessary software and then as a solution, I think it is best to use Nero. Nero offers on their official website 4 version Nero Linux version that will run natively on OS RedHat or Ubuntu or Fedora. Being a Linux user I used Nero Linux 4 I tested this and I can say that I've never experienced any problems in using it. In this short tutorial we showed how to use Nero and Brasero Disc Burner, your choices, how to make a cd bootbil using Ubuntu Linux and so on. In closing, I invite you to follow along this tutorial video!
Remember, if you have suggestions, complaints or additions do not hesitate to write in the comments box, de-also if you met the comments box a user has a problem and you can help him, do not hesitate to do it, the only way we can do this place better, see the comments box!
Enjoy !

Adrian, I think I understand now why you chose Nero (which just between us, it is the best burning software in linux), I think you want to present Ubuntu OS clean with desktop manager Gnome that comes default, but all the libraries and dependencies that installs K3B are the desktop manager's KDE you have to admit that is the best linux desktop manager

Thousand one do not like KDE no, I did not liked any version of KDE before. All suffer from the same disease: instability heavy crash over crash, strange behavior and different on the same PC if Kubuntu reisntalarii. Nero Linux remains the best burner and Windows version of Nero 6 7 and are flawless. On Linux I have not found any burner to satisfy my needs, I mentioned in the tutorial that is defective Brasero and argued with me and admitted others like Brasero has problems, both here and on the forum or ubuntu.ro ubuntu.com are hundreds of complaints for Brasero or K3B

Adrian I have a question for you
Have you ever installed a Linux KDE interface to see how it works, have tested a version of Linux with KDE to give you their opinion about the voluntary work they do those who develop KDE interface?
I think you're just frustrated that knows how to cover their shortcomings and denigrate you do not understand
What you are doing is exactly what Microsoft did about OpenOffice.org suite (you know your article on linux.videotutorial.ro, in which I I commended for initiative)
Too bad you do good tutorials for the comments box in the worst mess you hal

Linux means freedom, freedom of choice, they can choose and are free to choose whether I like it or not an interface or another. Right? I did not tell anyone not to use KDE. Everything I said about KDE refers strictly to me. As for KDE, yes, I tried several versions. The only distribution that KDE support is Arch Linux. Ubuntu is not peace and it will never reconcile with KDE interface. I know exactly what I mean. even in another tutorial I did print the crash sites of Uncle Kopete which makes crash for no reason after a fresh install with updates to be updated. It's simply a crowded interface, too colorful, too glosy too many effects in the selection of a button (what role does glosy outline of a button when it is selected and hold the mouse on it?) That I do not like and so . I did not tell anyone not to use it, I have instructed anyone to quit KDE. What is all the bling bling coin and beauty? Why not first try building this environment, tanning and then impopotonarea?

      • Yes you're right I'm not so great specialist but if you put it where it feels 270MB HDD capacity to burn anyway mare.Dar that right now as I write I watch a movie with him and it burned super clear and subtitle is quality so we are pleased with the exchange el.In nero express that I bought in the store so I downloaded and I think the CD is no error when I burned the video cam another good one right? Yes burned without errors but good music and music are free enough to give Burn all so wrong I buna.Poate quality or we had problems with nero and now it's about urasc.Dar not important, important is that ubuntu 10.10 is super good and the variants is much improved the anterioare.Eu I downloaded version francophone because I live in Paris and I'm relieved in franceza.Oricum thanks for these videotutoriale and look forward and those that come.

It's really very good Nero 🙂 I ruined some DVDs with Brasero… I would like you to tell me what I can use for rss (eg FeedDemon that I synchronize with my gmail account). Thanks.

I use Google Reader. I do not see the sense of using an application and that application since it needs internet to function, to bring you new desktop feeds (news). Anyway keep browser open all day so you can sit quietly in a tab open Google Reader account. I use Chromium and Google Reader open in a tab and then right clicked on it and choose Pin Tab to no longer accidentally close and open the browser every time he opens with your Google Reader. Used before Liferea

We tutorials with Snarfer su RSS FeedDemon, these are for windows but I think you can find something similar for linux.

Plus, to fully read the new feeds, you'll still need to open a browser, so…

Adrian, do you want to do a tutorial on Conky?

  14. Liviu Florin said

And Brasero bothers me and I do not even Nero thought to use it.
Now I installed Nero's really OK. One thing upsets me to Ubuntu and Linux in general, they can not find and can not install drivers for Lexmark X5490, and this must go on Windows I could print something.

  15. Even I did not know that from Nero did ptr. Linux.
Unfortunately there is also Ashampoo ® Burning Studio 10 for Ubuntu
I replaced Nero Ashampoo ® Burning Studio 10 is better than nero 1000 times but unfortunately not ptr. Ubuntu may in the future will think to do. Anyway try Ashampoo ® Burning Studio 10 on other operating systems you say is the best!

  16. A tutorial of grade 10… congratulations!… .I also have a request from you..if it is possible… please make a nice tutorial for a program that edits videos in ubuntu linux.
    Thank you!

I would suggest a tutorial about Bricscad from Bricsys version for Linux - a very useful software for Autocad users (Windows) who want something similar for Linux

  20. There is a possibility, it may be possible to install something to access partitions in Windows XP and Windows ext4 7? (Even read only)

vali: Is there any possibility you can install something to be possible to access partitions in Windows XP and Windows ext4 7? (Even read only)

You can access them in Windows XP, but Windows can not currently 7. Will soon be a tutorial on this. I really plan this subject for the next tutorial.

  21. By the way I use Ubuntu until now K3B went flawless

Now I want to ask you something too: is it me or am I just a false impression in your mind you think that only users are professionals ubuntu.ro Linux Forum?

Be careful to language and who do reluctantly, that if you want to still have the opportunity to post comments and watch the video tutorials. If you do not like something, and I invite you to kindly look no tutorials made by me

    • Nobody said that users are professionals Ubuntu.ro Forum Linux (it does not know where you put it), I've criticized your language you use, and commented on how this site can I restrict access (e your job you do with your website)
Sometimes I wonder what the hell talk to you!

Adrian! If all this talk about was reached and interface stability perk, why not promote a bit Slackware because there really can talk about stability, even I would be very interested to learn more about Slackware.

Slacware is a popular distribution, is not as "user friendly" and not as easy to work as well in Ubuntu. The controls are slightly different from those we give in ubuntu is not a distribution based on Debian. Shows no interest in but you never asked anybody tutorial about it.

I just realized that you have an allocated area and this OS. Congratulations!
I'd be interested in a tutorial on Linux Slackware!
I know, there are few with the opinion, but I think it will be watched - at least out of curiosity.
As some would say "Slackware is their father" and it is normal for beginners (mostly those coming from Windows) to find it complicated, but let's not forget the advantages it offers compared to other distributions.
The world needs to understand:- Linux is not Windows!", And for those who want a Linux OS in their personal computer, it would be good to forget / give up the thought of" click-click, next-next, etc. ".
It saddens me that some are too lazy to learn… by becoming M $ slaves.
At several tutorials on Linux you want!
        All the best!

When I installed Ubuntu 10.10 I had several ntfs partitions and one fat32 on which I had the backup done with Acronis. I divided the C partition into root and home (at the beginning), and I also made the fat32 partition home (at the end). Can something happen if I did that? So far I haven't had any problems… I just want to know if more home partitions can be made… or is it just a home that has expanded? Thank you.

  29. Greetings tuturor.Felicitări for tutorials faceţi.Am they watched more and more experienced, we (not all). Aces like a tutorial about "Conky" as you do them (audio and video, with examples )'ve seen on other forums, but not sufficiently explained, perhaps addressing a class of more advanced users of Linux when it probably would speak and installing archives "tar.gz" (ex.practic)

PS. Above, I've seen an amateur Conky. (I understand that going and GNOME)

You go and burn CD or DVD from Nero Linux Express. There, choose Data CD or Data DVD, add pictures and give Burn. That's all you need to do.
