What is the video tutorial Restoring power plans on Windows about?

In this video tutorial " Restoring Power Plans on Windows " I show you three methods by which you can bring power plans back to Windows.

Power plans on Windows

Windows power plans are profiles that make your PC perform better or run more economically.

When we are talking about a laptop that the user uses more on the battery, then one of the Balanced or Power Saver modes must be chosen.

If we are talking about a PC that is a laptop or desktop, but is used more stationary, then it makes sense to use the High Performance mode or, more recently, the Ultimate Performance mode.

Sometimes power plans in Windows disappear

Sometimes, after an update, after a reinstall or even after a fresh installation of Windows, users notice the lack of power plans.

Usually the Balanced plan remains, and Power Saver and High Performance disappear.

How to bring power plans back to Windows

for method 1 and 2 we will use powercfg

Method 1 to restore power plans

Open CMD with administrator rights, paste the command:

powercfg -restoredefaultschemes

after that press enter and restart your PC

Method 2 to restore power plans

Open CMD with administrator rights and give the following commands in turn pressing enter after each one (only what is in bold)

Ultimate power plan:
powercfg -duplicatescheme e9a42b02-d5df-448d-aa00-03f14749eb61

High performance power plan:
powercfg -duplicatescheme 8c5e7fda-e8bf-4a96-9a85-a6e23a8c635c

Power saver power plan:
powercfg -duplicatescheme a1841308-3541-4fab-bc81-f71556f20b4a

Method 3 to Restore Windows Power Plans

In this method we will disable the S0 power state to enable control over the power plans.

Make two files with the extension reg (see the tutorial how). One is for deactivation and the other is for activation

disable…..

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power]
“PlatformAoAcOverride”=dword:00000000

activation……

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power]
“PlatformAoAcOverride”=-

After you have created them, double click on the one to deactivate. If you want to activate the S0 power mode instead, click on the one to activate.
