In the first part of this topic We will show how to prepare the ground in order to move forward with what we do in this tutorial and tutorial to follow. Furthermore, after making the preferred settings in Windows 7 and after installing all the preferred applications we will have to use SysPrep to pack everything and then boot from our bootable environment created according to the first tutorial. I chose to "arrange" a Windows 7 installed in the VMware Player virtual machine, I installed some favorite applications there and I also made some settings in the operating system, settings that I usually make every time I install the operating system. Windows 7. I will use this Windows 7 installed in VMware Player to generate the custom ISO image with Windows 7. It doesn't matter that I use a virtual environment because the custom ISO image will be universal, it will not contain the drivers but only my favorite software and system settings, so I can install the custom ISO image on any computer or laptop. If you have weaker hardware and cannot use a virtual machine then you can use your own computer or laptop to generate the custom ISO image with Windows 7.
Now that we've clarified these issues, you'll need to consider the fact that the more applications you have installed in Windows 7 (from the virtual machine or the real system), the bigger the custom ISO image will be. Don't get carried away and install only the strictly necessary applications. In case of contract, you will be unable to burn the custom ISO image on a DVD or make a bootable USB stick with a capacity of 4 GB. It should also be borne in mind that the C partition of the system after which we will make the custom ISO image must have enough free space because the bootable environment with which we will create the image, will save the custom "instal.wim" image in the C partition of the Windows operating system. 7 already installed.
Booting from the bootable environment (winpe_x86.iso or winpe_x64.iso) we will actually generate a file called "install.wim" (Windows Imaging Format) file that we will find in any bootable USB stick or ISO image with Windows 7. This file is a proprietary image that the windows set-up undoes and places on our hard drive when we install the operating system. The "install.wim" file can be found in the "sources" folder of any official ISO image.
Once the "install.wim" file is generated according to this video tutorial using the bootable environment, it will be found in partition C of the Windows 7 operating system that we have installed and after which we made the "install.wim" image. Next we need ISO image of Windows 7 I used it to install Windows 7 them (in PC virtual machine or real) that we have set and we installed favorite applications liking. Importantly, the ISO image we need now necessarily be the same one used when I installed Windows 7 them (the virtual machine or PC real) that we have set and we installed all favorite applications .
In my case I installed Windows 7 Enterprise in virtual machine so I will use ISO image with Windows 7 Enterprise. The next step is to make a bootable USB stick with it using WinToFlash or 7 Windows USB / DVD Download Tool then go to the "sources" folder on the bootable stick, identify the existing file called "install.wim", delete it and replace it with the file "install.wim" located in partition C of the Windows 7 operating system already installed which I generated using the winpe_x86.iso bootable environment in my case.
If the "install.wim" file generated with the bootable stick is larger than 4 GB, you will need to use a larger capacity USB stick.
If the “install.wim” file generated with the bootable environment is less than 4 GB, you can “undo” the ISO image (Windows 7 Enterprise in my case) with PowerISO, navigate to the “sources” folder, identify the “install.wim” file in the folder, delete it and replace it with the "install.wim" file generated by you. Remaining in PowerISO, save the ISO image and then make a bootable DVD with these.
If you do not own a USB drive, external hard drive or SD card that fit your project or ISO image finals and personalized boggles 4.7 GB DVD then you will need to install Windows custom network thing we do tutorial to follow.
