The three basic things:

3. ISO
This is the sensor's sensitivity to light, a good sensor with high ISO native is doing much better in low light, the colors are preserved, low noise. It is preferable to keep the ISO as can lower and raise it only when we have no choice.
If you understand these three things it will be much clearer, practical behavior they control room and the final look of the photo.

Yes, I can say that it is a video tutorial on the subject, but it still has shortcomings and it can be seen that you are not an expert in cameras and at the same time not too great a photographer. the lower the ISO, the clearer the photos will be without noise, but at the same time from ISO 800 onwards and the best cameras and I mean the DSLR ones don't take good photos anymore and at ISO 1600 they already have noise very visible but still can be retouched in photo editing programs. It should be noted that compact cameras all have somewhere an LED or something that lights up in green when the settings are good and can be photographed and lights up in red when something is not well set. Then to take good photos no matter how I set the camera and even automatically we must know that the shutter-release button has two positions, ie the first time we must carefully press halfway and wait for the camera to focus then v man receives an audible signal that he focused and only after that we press until the end and take the photo. If we don't do that we will never take good photos and there would be something else we press the button carefully and we do not hurry to take the finger from the button as we risk moving with the camera and the photo will be compromised. I'm not a professional photographer, I can say that I am an amateur ambitious yet know, understand and feel the device, it is very important.
I am more inclined towards video but photography starts to catch my eye more and more often, especially when I get something out of what I propose. The video comes out superb from the dslr, with the video cameras you can't control the final result too much, with the dslr instead you can work wonders, especially if you have glass. Just so you know, last season Dr. House was filmed with DSLRs. Quality of thousands of euros with only a few hundred.
