How to configure the Outlook Express email client to sync with your Gmail email account - video tutorial

Hi friends, in today's tutorial you'll learn how to use the mail client Outlook Express in Windows XP to synchronize our emails from Gmail and bring them to our desktop. For those interested in client Thunderbird, my colleague has already achieved a Boby videotutorial about it. Why did I choose to use a mail client? One reason is that we remain ever without internet connection and if the mail account I have a mail we should really, we can not access it because we have no internet connection. For such situations, it is very useful email client. It is to download new mail in our computer all our Gmail account and everything will happen with the internet, we have our desktop mail client can access them any time. Another avanataj of using a mail client would be able to better manage emails, you can encrypt output and input them into your computer so your data will be sent via secure mail will be protected and encrypted. Outlook Express mail client has a good integration with desktop antivirus giving you extra safety on the data that is in your inbox. You can read emails that have already started to be downloaded, but have an internet connection.
Another advantage is that you can always export the settings or synced accounts and a reinstall of Windows if you set the account and load your favorite settings using a simple file created by the Export we are forced to manually set each account to set the server again incoming or outgoing. The same thing can be beautiful and you receive emails in HTML, digital cards etc can be easily exported and saved.
In conclusion, if you are important, and not only, it is better to use a mail client. We hope that we have managed to arouse curiosity about this topic I invite you to watch this video tutorial.

Yes, this is because IMAP is used and not POP. For POP you have the "hats" in your hand, you can configure in more depth, you can set the encryption of emails, the POP is more secure

  • Yes, but we don't really use mail so much, more messenger .... and mail is not very easy to talk about as messenger no matter what kind of address it is: gmail (google talk), windows live (live messenger), yahoo mail (yahoo mesengere)

  • Yahoo mail account at which you are offered free and a messenger id does not support POP nor IMAP nor can not be configured with any desktop email client unless you upgrade to Yahoo Mail Plus and are willing to give 20 $ per month

  • Very good tutorial, but I have a problem! Wirelles using laptop and can not add connection wirelles as default! One suggestion?

  • I find Outlook Express and Windows Messenger in XP very old. I use Windows Live 2011, version 15 (and Messenger, and Mail). In case anyone wants more, you can do a tutorial about Windows Live Essentials (Messenger, Mail, Photo Gallery, Movie Maker etc) ... you can download on http://download.live.com (If you have Windows 7 / Vista in Romanian, you take it directly in Romanian, if you do not have to choose or if you want English, give English).
@Cingo: go to Internet Explorer under Internet Options (in IE9 it's directly on the right wheel) => Connections => Always call my default connection, choose the wireless connection name and give "Set as default" => Apply = > OK!

    • Spuh: How to configure Mozilla Thunderbird?
