How to move games or applications already installed in another partition, when we no longer have free space on part C - video tutorial

Hi friends, in today's tutorial we will learn how we can move applications already installed in another partition, other than the partition with the operating system. Many of you probably still have old hard drives, with little space allocated to partition C or even though they have a large capacity hard drive, they have allocated to partition C only 30-40 GB of recommended capacity for the partition that will contain the operating system. In time, we get to install all kinds of applications, games and free space on the C partition will be insufficient so that when starting the PC we will see the message "Low disk space" in the lower right part of the screen. What can we do in such cases?
We use clean files start with the utility temporrare CCleaner which we already have a tutorial we defragment your hard drive. For those who don't know, everything we have on the desktop will take up space on partition C. We can move files, movies, music or whatever else we have on the desktop to another partition to make more space in partition C. And if these methods do not helps in "recovering" free space, what can we do?
We go to uninstall unnecessary applications that do not use them frequently with the help of Revo Uninstaller or we can use Steam Mover application that I decided to present you a tutorial today.
Steam Mover allows moving applications or games already installed on another partition of our computer. After moving they remain fully functional. How does this app? Basically we move the folder containing the files necessary for running applications or new game chosen location, leaving the original location of the folder just some shortcuts / links to the destination or the location where I have chosen to move.
Doing so with applications and games, placing them location, we automatically have more free space on partition C

NOTE: Before you move any app or game, make sure that they do not have services running and they are oprite.Aplicatia can be used on operating systems Windows Vista and Windows 7. We assume no risk of data loss or damage caused by using this application. Using this application will assume the entire risk of its use and its consequences. There are some applications that can not be moved using this software. There is a list of applications or games that may or may not be moved, so we suggest you to test the application before using VirtualBox. It is possible to have problems moving game developed by Valve Software. This software can move applications and games only on NTFS partitions
Remember, if you have suggestions, complaints or additions do not hesitate to write in the comments box, de-also if you met the comments box a user has a problem and you can help him, do not hesitate to do it, the only way we can do this place better, see the comments box!
Enjoy !

  • Hi Adrian, the tutorial is good, I would also have a request if possible, maybe one of you can make a tutorial on how to make the settings of the video pads from ATI for game performance (I mean ATI CATALYST Control Center) ... I have a cracker from ATI Radeon 9250/256 mb AGP 8x and it leaves something to be desired in games, and possibly an upgrade suggestion to it would be good on the AGP slot, ms for understanding, good luck

  • Congratulations for. tutorial.
Somehow know a solution for games to be functional after re-installation of Windows? Because not all go, for example Red Alert 3 ask languge pack, and if I'm not mistaken and must appear in the registry.
    Thanks and as many tutorials

  • Interesting and very useful but useless for XP. The description states that it is useful in older PCs with small hard drive and small C partition. I don't think anyone has Vista or 7 installed on these PCs. Is there anything similar for XP ?????

  • Nice tutorial: By the way, I noticed that you had Trilian Astra installed there in C Program Files: D what do you say you will do in the near future a tutorial about trilian astra? (meaning the near future, as soon as possible ???)
