How to update firmware for a Samsung RW DVD drive (TSST Corp) - video tutorial

Hi friends, this video tutorial will present a method to update firmware samsung optical drive (TSST Corp), this operation will be done in the operating system is a fairly simple job.
Update firmware is necessary to update some features that did not exist at time of product on the market or to correct some bugs, these bugs can occur because of very rapid launching products on the market or because immature firmware versions.
Many of you may have noticed the unit's optics some small problems, for example a few years ago my optical drive ASUS DVD-RW burn, but DVD + RW, the problem we solve it through a firmware update at the DVD RW optical drive.
The method presented in this video tutorial is valid for Samsung optical drives but the procedure may be similar (not identical) for several models, from different manufacturers, Samsung optical drives are recognized by Device Manager as "TSST Corp", do not be surprised if you do not see any inscription with the Samsung brand, even though you bought Samsung.
For complete safety throughout the firmware update, it is advisable to use a backup source for UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply), if you know that you have problems with power supply, if you do not have problems with power is not it is absolutely necessary to use a UPS, however it does not take long to update the firmware of the optical drive.

I have a dvd-rw samsung sh-s182d that after a normal function of a 2 years (service and casual with a computer CD-RW for CD) appeared the following phenomenon: write CDs and DVDs but not May read (on other DVD go read) Do you have any opinion in this regard? intampla.L What could I put on another pc and the same unit.

Yes it is possible, and should not necessarily be a virus! It is possible that the optical drive is defective have been damaged, hit, smashed, shattered, and have suffered a shock or that have shoved a broken CD and CD deformations to be moved or dezacsat laser beam focusing lens making the laser focus and concentration them to be higher than normal when reading and thus remove or simply burn the data are on CD.

I checked w7 dvd .. and go, so the guy did not crashed .. it seems to be selectively destroy only cd dvd.Ar not deserve a firmware update? Of course if you say mechanical failure, nothing but him fix ..
It's hard to believe that a shock might increase the power range, usually opposite happens ..
