How to mount the cables from the housing (front panel) on the motherboard - video tutorial

When we start configuring a system, we face all sorts of small problems, one of those issues where everyone runs away, is mounting cables from the front panel of the casing on the motherboard, in Romanian, leads those thin with very small plugs, which look like jumpers.
Normally chassis front panel cables leading to the front panel (sometimes at the top of the case), cables are for: USB, power on, reset, microphone and headphones, sometimes we also have eSATA or Firewire separate front panel housing can find and card readers that are installed just like uSB.
The operation does not require special experience, anyone can do this, we just need attention and patience, it is sometimes possible to have need and philips screwdriver (star, cross), anyway I think this tool has anyone in the house.
As you'll see in the tutorial video, audio jack and USB are fairly easy to install, more attention needs to be given front panel's (f_panel), here pins on the motherboard are small and quite crowded.
The most important is to have good visibility on the site in question, a flashlight or a desk lamp will help us a lot, also to those who do the work must be almost perfect if you have trouble seeing a magnifying glass can help.
Jacks are usually significant (hdd_led, pwr_Led, reset_sw, pwr_sw), also on the back of each socket will discover an arrow in the right one pin, one marked with an arrow will always be plus and the other minus, if we know that is the plus and why cable is that not only have to locate where we introduce plug pins. In case you do not have that table on the motherboard, motherboard see manual and there you will find the table's front panel pins and their location.
Also in the tutorial, in the end we showed and how to reset the BIOS (CLR_MOS), we have two options, the first option is shorting pins for clr_mos, and the second is by removing the battery 2-3 seconds, while we pin or short out the battery, power cord must be disconnected from the PC and it must be stopped.
This tutorial is part of a series on mounting components started a few days ago, some of which are the following tutorials:
How to mount a CPU cooler and RAM on the motherboard
How to mount a new source or how to replace old power
Optional for knowledge:
The difference between a good and a poor source, connectors, noise and cold start sources

Continuous series… ..

  • Thanks for this tutorial, I accidentally broke mistake these connections to a computer and I did not bring them back, tutorialu solved the problem, thank you!

  • Very nice tutorial congratulations.
Cristi I have a request. Tell me please what camera do you use? I needed the camera to focus and so I would be very useful to know already a model.

    Thank you very much.

Finish with questions related to things we use in props! We kindly ask you. Importantly tutorial. If you were a loyal viewer and you'd be looking at tutorials in the last days (in which the used camera to shoot video) and if you read the comments, you would have learned long ago camcorder uses Cristi. There are singuru who asks for it to already answered this question, we will reply to each one the same question just for the convenience of reading your comments.

  • I have a small remark to make in this tutorial, although I am not a computer scientist or electronics technician, I am just an enthusiast who learns from where he can. As far as I know the plugs for POWER SW and RESET SW can be connected to the motherboard in any way because there is no problem of + or -, but only give continuity to a certain circuit ... no matter how you put them when you press the button power or reset PC will react. The + and - socket must be taken into account for the HDD LED and POWER LED socket because only direct current flows inside a PC, and the LED will not light up if you change the polarity. Anyway, you are the strongest and thanks to you, I also had what I learn from the secrets of computer science. I look forward to the next tutorial no matter what it is about. I can say that I have a passion for you. If possible, you can also reply to my messages. I left one at the presentation of the TP-LINK router, because I bought the same model presented by you, Cristi, and I have some problems with it and I don't know what I could do to make it work properly. Good luck.

    • Yes so it is power and reset switches are just simple, can be mounted but not bad anyway to use the same logic everywhere, it's so simple.
My router works perfectly, as well as Adrian, and he has the same model.
It's probably something wrong with you, besides magnetism router or interference with other devices.
If the wire goes well, it should work on wireless, wired if it goes wrong means there's a wrong setting made.

    • If you are impatient, you can subscribe to our channel on youtube, there are tutorials posted filmed before a few hours, sometimes even the day before publication on the website.
YouTube is posted immediately after shooting.

  • Howdy. I would also like to make a small remark, although I am not a computer scientist or electronics technician, although I would have liked it very much. As far as I know, the POWER SW and RESET SW jacks can be connected to the motherboard anyway because there is no + and - as in the case of POWER LED and HDD LED ... in the case of LEDs it must be taken into account because in the inside of a PC is DC and AC-like. That's about all I have to criticize: p ... And now we continue with the praises ... you are the strongest and I really appreciate the work you put in here ... I think I can say with my heart that I am your biggest fan. I look forward to the next tutorial no matter what it is about. I can say that I made a passion for the work that you submit by doing these tutorials. Good luck

PS: I wish if I can receive and reply to comment from someone I posted the presentation TP-LINK WR740.

I apologize for posting the same thing twice but it was down and when I checked the first one it wasn't on the site ... I don't have problems with the wireless broadcast on the router ... but I have problems with the data that enters it ... I have internet on static ip and I have the following data from the provider ... IP: 2; Subnet mask 94.62.25.59; Default gateway: 255.255.255.224; DNS: 94.62.25.1 and Alternative DNS: 10.0.0.1 ... the problem is that after entering this data in the router and saving it it gives me an error ... "Error code: 10.0.0.10
Bad Gateway for WAN IP, please input another one. "... is the only problem I have ... a friend of mine had a similar problem and solved it with a firmware update but the problem for me is that I also have the latest firmware on it ... what do you think it could be or what could I do in this situation? Thanks

    • Talk to your provider may need to clone the Mac.
Provider is in the best position to tell you the settings you have to do the router.

      • I tend to think it's a software problem as long as the mac is cloned well and it only gives me an error when saving the ip without connecting the internet cable to the router ... I would like to update to a custom firmware namely DD-WRT ... do you think that would be a solution?

  • Cristi-admin:

Well, I cloned macu, everything is fine ... I don't understand why he doesn't want to save my data ... I've had the router for 6 months and it worked perfectly and this month they changed the data and they don't want to be saved in any form ... I'm thinking of trying a custom firmware ... do you think it could be a solution?

    • First you need to tell us what you provider (RDS, UPC, Romtelecom, net neighborhood), also tell us your settings.
Custom firmware is not a solution for you.

      • I have a neighborhood net ... the settings I have from the provider are:
        -IP: 94.62.25.59
        - Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.224
        - Gateway: 94.62.25.1
        - DNS: 10.0.0.1
        - DNS alternative: 10.0.0.10
I don't have other settings, I even gave it a factory default and in vain ... I tried to enter this data with the net cable connected to the router and without the cable, and via the cable from the laptop to the router and wireless and I always gives the same error ... I tried to change the Subnet Mask with 255.255.255.0 and it saved the settings but it doesn't work ... I spent a whole day trying solutions. I was thinking that if my friend who had a similar problem on a router from another company and with an update solved it, and I don't have an update, I thought that maybe it would be a DD-WRT solution and I said first to talk to you have experience and knowledge in the field.

      • I don't understand why some posted comments don't appear on the site and when I send the second one, the first one also appears ... strange ... I resume for any eventuality ...
I net neighborhood and those from static ip net gave me the following information:
        - IP: 94.62.25.59
        - Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.224
        - Gateway: 94.62.25.1
        - DNS: 10.0.0.1
        - DNS alternative: 10.0.0.10
Other settings have not since I tried a factory default and nothing, the only solution that worked was to change Subnet Mask with 255.255.255.0 in these conditions saved my settings but this Subnet Mask goes Addicted than at the 224 . Sorry again if it happens to post the 2 times but do not understand why there are no comments nor 15-20 minutes after I posted and occur only after you post on the 2 century.

        • Network card in your PC you put on the car?
You put your Mac to the network card in your PC to the router?

          • to the network card I distributed ip ... and I put 192.168.1.100 on the laptop and 192.168.1.101 on the desktop and the mac is put in the router and saved ...

board network ip ... I have distributed and put on laptop and desktop 192.168.1.100 192.168.1.101 and mac router is placed in and saved ...

Do you have any idea what it might be? or do you find it strange? normally he should have just saved any numbers you typed there ...

  • Hello, with approx. a year and a half ago, when you were doing the tour with the intel i3 system, I decided to do a calculus too. from scratch, the problem is that in the 'fire' of shopping I was not careful and I bought a case without headphone jacks, the ones that are on the front panel. Can you tell me where I find those jacks, possibly with I can tell you that I only found it with the case or 'sh' [in which case the owner was 500km away. of Buc.]
