How to remove the advertising banner for Avira AntiVir antivirus - video tutorial

If a few days ago present installation and configuration of Avira AntiVir today come with a supplement on that tutorial and learn together how to block pop-up that appears every time Avira AntiVir are updated database of signatures for viruses.

The operation is very simple and available to anyone, in today's tutorial I chose to present 2 of these methods. All you have to do is click on “Start” then on “Run…” type in the box: secpol.msc (Local Security Policy) expand click-and on the plus sign in front of the group “Software Restriction Polices”, click on “Additional Rules” to select it, and on the right, in a white portion click on the right and from the context menu choose “New Path Rule…” In the window that appears click on Browse navigate to C: \ Program Files \ Avira \ AntiVir Desktop ”look for the executable called“ avnotify ”give“ OK ”then“ Apply ”and again“ OK ”

You are probably wondering what exactly I did following these steps? Basically, we blocked the execution rights on the "avnotify" file and it will no longer have the right to run or run when avira updates. This "avnotify" is responsible for that pop-up window that appears with each update of Avira.
By doing these steps Avira AntiVir will not suffer at all, its efficiency or detection rate will not decrease and the good functionality of this wonderful and "cheap" antivirus will not be affected.

That being said I will not let you watch the tutorial before said that the 2 way to get rid of this pop-up is shown in the tutorial and you'll have to watch it to find it.

Remember, we are waiting for opinions, suggestions and additions in the comments box, the comments box if you can help someone with a problem that you have solved, do not hesitate to make only together can do wonders.

I wish you pleasant viewing!

  • Hi Adrian ... this tutorial was really a good idea because although it doesn't appear often that banner is annoying especially when it makes an update and maybe you are in the middle of a movie or game..etc..you are great !! impatiently and the other tutorials..PS: I tried the first method that seems simpler to me and it worked 100% :))

  • Hi Adrian, I applied the second method (I find it easier and less). I found it on You Tube in a short tutorial you tot.La exposure is slightly longer but more effective for us beginners in the PC-ului.Iti thanks for the tutorials you do and where you go as time went on more and bine.Felicitari and let carcotasii to say what they want, that's their pleasure.
Regarding the Avira 9 I found a tutorial on the net that says that though you can set the 2 ptr.Update in 2 ore.L I applied but I do not respect timetables (perhaps I'm wrong somewhere) In principle an opening Avira enter in seduler the administrator with all jobs dr.sterge clik there and then create other ptr. Update programmed in 2 2 hours (total 12 update) (all with clik edit dr.si Job, etc.) Based on this idea, if you think it's valid, please make a brief tutorial and very util.Multumesc.Stima and respect

Regarding what Viorelpicu says with an update every 2 hours, I want to say that I set it and it works because I left it set to maximize just to see if Viorel updates and it probably works ... you forgot to check the box "enabled" .A era sa uit merci Adrian :)

If you checked the option "repeat job if time has expired" (repeat job if time has expired) it is normal to be like that being set at 08.00 and you started the pc at 9 and something as you say he did the job he had to to do it at 8. Respect

If it bothers you so much choose another antivirus. Search this site safe and find something to your liking. If you're not stressing advertisements window then stay on Avira. That is your misfortune.
        Success.

  • I do not know what you're saying I have set Avira to do its update of 2 2 in hours when he want to do this when you clearly stated that the minimum is 1 day! Yeah, Avira Premium Security Suite or intervalu can set the time you want, but do not go free than once daily 1 Look a screenshot HERE
