Nexus 7 2013 is very very successful. I've had it for about 10 days and it has no trace of lag, any application, game, anything works and it moves as if all the applications were closed. When you use it in landscape mode for multimedia, browsing and gaming you don't feel the need for a 10 inch tablet, I had a Nexus 10 that moves very well but I preferred to sell it because a 7 inch tablet is much more handy like a 10 inch one.
My recommendation is to go for Nexus 7 2013, or if the patient will recommend you have a LG Optimus Pad 8.3 is very successful in terms of hardware and software.
