Hi friends, today's tutorial we will see how we can make a capture without installing desktop software but using an online service called Screencast-O-Matic. Maybe because you are not people too technical and you want an easy and fast way to show your problem someone or want to help a friend solve the problem exemplifying through a video you have to make the PC's to their solve the problem.
For this you can use the service Screencast-O-Matic, a service that allows you to record a video clip that we do on our PC Desktop. No need to install software or to download applications. We only need a web browser and JRE (Java Runtime Environment). Using this service requires creating an account.
What we do with Screencast-O-Matic?
- desktop capture for 15 minutes
- webcam capture
- allows us to save on PC the final result in formats: MP4, FLV, AVI, GIF
- allows us to upload the final result directly to YouTube
- we can pause during the capture
- after we finish capturing we have the possibility to: change the resolution, we can add different notes to be displayed in the capture at the time interval chosen by us, we can add a translation, we can choose to visually display the moments when you clicked on something during the clip, we can choose to have the mouse circled so that those who will watch the video can more easily follow what you wanted to show.
Disadvantages Screencast-O-Matic:
- whether we choose to host the final result on the Screencast-O-Matic servers or download it to the PC, the clip will have a watermark with the Screencast-O-Matic logo at the bottom left.
- we must keep the Screencast-O-Matic tab open in the browser on the capture period.
