Hi friends, in today's tutorial I will show you 3 ways to listen to radio stations in Ubuntu Linux. Although there are many softwares or methods to listen to radio stations, I have chosen to present you only 3 easy methods. In order to listen to radio stations on Ubuntu you will need to have the gstreamer codecs installed. About the installation of gstreamer codecs and other codecs needed to be able to watch movies in Ubuntu, or to be able to play DVDs was discussed in "How to install codecs on Ubuntu Linux”Which I invite you to watch and then after installing the codecs, watch this tutorial. The methods are not difficult at all but the easiest, most interesting and handy is the third method. It is a very small software that I will not name here but I will let you watch the video tutorial. This software does not have a player interface but sits neatly in the top panel, next to the clock. When I say player interface I mean that you will not have a pause button, play, forward, backward as in a classic player interface. Everything will be controlled with the mouse from the 2 menus that will be displayed on the left click or on the right click on the application icon. Another utility of this software is that we can control its volume by simply rotating the mouse wheel (mouse well). Turning up we give louder, turning down we give the sound of the radio station slower. That being said, I leave you to watch the tutorial and at the same time find out the name of the application that I find very useful and interesting!
Remember, if you have suggestions, complaints or additions do not hesitate to write in the comments box, de-also if you met the comments box a user has a problem and you can help him, do not hesitate to do it, the only way we can do this place better, see the comments box!
Enjoy !

very loud radio tray :) thanks
who lied to you if you right click and sect Rhythmbox it doesn't work to listen to kiss fm :))
Your comment is a little arrogant, if you looked at head-tail tutorial, we see that even right clicked and selected open with Rhythmbox and nothing happens.
the question is why? as for me, it goes normally with the right click on that file given by the d ela kiss fm http://i51.tinypic.com/xaxqit.png check and see do not give anything, it's their IP, it's a problem for you
I tried it in ubuntu 10.10 and goes but the last edition and Kubuntu 2.7 rhythmbox.se goes perfectly with right click add to list. need given only play
liviu how to go in ubuntu 10.10 if it didn't even appear as the final OS.
And what does it's not final release?? problem you Rhythmbox.'ve tried and 10.10 kubuntu beta and went smoothly in Rhythmbox listen.pls add a right click on the file and open with Rhythmbox.
Mom, I struggled with rytmbox to add a radio station ... and I didn't succeed ... now that I've seen the tutorial ... my heart is back ... without you I was dead ... I admit I'm a beginner. on linux..it will take me some time until I get used to it ... but it's definitely more beautiful..and better than windows ... very good tutorial ... and I'm waiting for as much as possible about linux ....
I'm using VLC ... I can double-click on the .pls file and I don't need to copy the link anymore.
sall I also have a problem if you can help me I have a Gigabyte GA-945GCM-S2L motherboard so I would like to have an intel dual core e6500 cpu and I don't know if it is compatible. I would like you to give me some advice if fit even if I can buy it. thank you. EXCEPT ME IF MY COMMENTARY IS NOT RELATED TO THE TUTORIAL.
You can find out for yourself whether your motherboard supports this type of processor or not. All you have to do is go to the gigabyte site ... type in google: Gigabyte, enter and access the first page of the google search engine. You look for the model of your motherboard and you will have a button called CPU Support, click on it and it will tell you which processors you can put on your motherboard. click HERE and if the processor is not in the list, then it is not supported.

cairo dock
Ms much liviu ...
This is not about cairo dock! But if it is, I'll make a tutorial for that one too, I don't like the cairo dock at all, it's too unpopular, it has too many effects and the last time I installed it it was pathetic, not to mention the resources huge that they consume ...
means that I am more grabit.folosesc KDE and do not turn me on the cairo dock, awant browser window and the more there are. And if we talked about that day and how he says the new die here curoizotate ice :) sorry that I misled you
It consumes me a little over 20 mb with 7 windows in the dock and without 7,2 and I haven't had a problem with it since it was installed ... but that vrb ... "de gustibus non est disputandum" :)
It would be great to do a tutorial on this ... thanks in advance
