How to perform the partitioning operation and how to create a partition right?
In this video tutorial will explain how to make a correct partitioning a hard disk taking into account the way it was done by the manufacturer, each hard is different and yet many people do not take account of this.
Partitioning a hard disk is not an operation that must be done in a hurry, we must take into account the number of magnetic disks that are present in that hard disk, we must also take into account the read-write heads and last but not least the capacity hard drive.
A hard disk that has two magnetic disks can have 3 or 4 read-write heads, 3 if one surface of a disk is not active and 4 when the hard disk has two active read surfaces on each tray -writing.

Hello very good tutorial but I did not understand one thing: I have a samsung hdd 320 and has two discs that means is 4 heads?

@Dragos: If you have two disks with two surfaces each yes, if you have two disks and you can have three surfaces, not necessarily every disk to be two surfaces.
However every area you cite a read-write head, that interests you most heads, they are reading and writing.
I 2 4 magnetic disc storage areas .. (320GB) and I want to install the operating system. Cate partitions you recommend and capacity for better functioning of anticipated hdd.Multumesc

Let's say half of hard do the multimedia
You now have half hard. If you break two operating systems that do half eg Multimedia 2 and the other half a break in two operating systems Ex xp and vista
If you resize the partition with Acronis data on the HDD will be kept?

Basically you can resize partitions but it's quite complicated and there are many variables so best do it with hard-drive blank
