Hi friends, today's tutorial we will see how we can return to an older version of Android or how we can remove the root, custom recovery and custom rom on your Samsung smartphones like Galaxy S2, S3, S4, and S5 even S6, Notes 2, 3 Notes. 4 Note, Samsung Galaxy Alpha.
I decided to do this tutorial because I received many questions regarding “How do I get back to Android KitKat on Galaxy S5? I updated to Android Lollipop and I don't like it "
The procedure is as simple as possible. All we need are the USB drivers for the Samsung device, the Odin software with which we will flash the stock rom on the Samsung smartphone and the stock rom. If you are wondering where you get all these "tools", I showed in the video tutorial!
Some tips before you get to put into practice those shown in the video tutorial:
- make a copy of messages, photos, calls and other important data for you, on another device. During the flash rom flash process, the existing data on the device will be lost. If you don't know how to do this, we already have a tutorial on saving text messages and call logs. You can find the tutorial using the terms "SMS Backup" in the search box on the top right.
- Remove the micro SD card from the phone before starting the whole process.
- try to use the original data cable
- disable the antivirus and firewall before installing the Samsung drivers and keep them disabled throughout the process of returning to the stock rom.
- do not use USB HUBs or other extension cords / intermediates to connect the data cable from the phone to the computer or laptop
- if you can, use a laptop throughout this process. If a power outage occurs during the flashing process, you will end up with a useless smartphone
- do not connect the data cable to the computer through the front USB ports of the computer, use the USB ports in the back panel that come directly from the motherboard.
- Do not cancel the flashing process, do not force close the Odin application window and do not disconnect the data cable during the flashing process.
Now that we have taken note of all this, we go ahead and install SAMSUNG USB Driver. Then we download Odin and the stock rom from the sites mentioned in the video tutorial. Next we will have to put the device in Download Mode by following the following steps: close the device, press the Volume -, Power and Home keys simultaneously and keep them past until the message “Warning!” Appears. then press Volume + to enter Download Mode.
Connect the data cable to the phone and computer or laptop, run Odin with administrator rights by right-clicking on it and then click on “Run as administrator…”, click on the AP button in the Odin interface, give way to the file… tar. md5 ”which represents the stock rom, uncheck the“ Auto Rebot ”box in the Odin interface and click on the Start button in the Odin software interface and wait patiently for the stock rom flash process to reach the end.
After the flashing process is complete, hold down the Volume +, Power and Home keys simultaneously until the phone enters Recovery mode (stock recovery). Here navigate with the volume keys down to the command "Wipe cache partition" then press the Power key for the selected command, select the command "wipe data / factory reset" also with the volume keys, press the power key to confirm the command, select the command "Yes - delete all user data ”also with the volume key and confirm with the Power button. After waiting a few seconds for the phone to erase all data, select the "reboot system now" command and press the Power key to confirm.
Carefully and patiently came back I reinstalled or Android KitKat on our Samsung smartphone. The same method can be used to eliminate the root or unroot do to eliminate or remove custom recovery ROM custom rom in order to restore the stock. I have two devices that have received Lollipop 5.0.2 and it works very well, it is a tablet LG SONY Z2 G3 and compact.

I know someone who complained about Lollipop, especially the battery life on an HTC ONE (M7). I put a custom ROM on it from XDA, and now it's satisfied. You reminded me of the times when I used Odin for flashing, also of the Sammobile page, it's been a while since I didn't have a Samsung smartphone, I forgot my username / password on the Sammobile site . It depends on how it is decoded, if it was decoded by IMEI then you can reflash the rom without problems. A phone decoded by IMEI will remain decoded no matter what you do to it. If it is decoded by more "exotic" software then you can risk becoming coded again if you switch to the original rum. The phone had root when you bought it, did you have applications like GalaxSIM Unlock? If so, it means that it is temporarily tricked / decoded through some applications and the return to stock can encode it.
