Solving the Rubik's cube with the help of a computer - video tutorial

Rubik's Cube is a puzzle game problem 1974 invented by Hungarian sculptor and professor of architecture Erno Rubik.
Originally called "Magic Cube" by its inventor, Erno Rubik, was renamed "Rubik's Cube" by Ideal Toys in 1980 company and won the special award for Best Game of the Year game problem in Germany. It is considered to be the best selling toy in the world with over 300.000.000 cubes sold worldwide by 2005.
In a classic Rubik's Cube, each of the six faces is covered by 9 labels, colored in one of six colors (traditionally white, yellow, orange, red, blue and green). A pivot mechanism enables each face rotation independent, and thus color bleeding. To solve the game, each face must be a solid color.
There are several variations of the cube, products widely: Pocket Cube, the 2 × × 2 2, standard cube 3 3 × × 3, then 4 4 × × × 4 5 5 and × 5. Recently, there have been produced and larger versions.
In addition, informal alternative competitions are held and in which participants are asked to solve the cube in unusual conditions. Among these are:

* Solving the cube blindfolded
* Solving the cube with one person blindfolded and the other dictating the movements that make them
* Solving the cube as water in a single breath
* Solving the cube with one hand
* Solving the cube with feet

Of these informal competitions, WCA only approve solving competitions blindfolded with one hand and legs.
There are some thoughtful solutions in order to solve the Rubik's cube as quick as possible.
The most popular quick solution was developed by Jessica Fridrich. It is a level-by-level method very efficient and requires a large number of algorithms, in particular for guiding and for the last permutation level. The corners of the first level and the second level are solved simultaneously with each corner piece on an edge of the second level.
Another widespread method was developed by Lars Petrus. In this method, first resolve a section 2 2 × × 2, then extended 2 2 × × 3, and then the incorrect edges are solved using an algorithm of three movements, which eliminates the need for a possible movements 32 algorithm would may be necessary later. One advantage of this approach is that it tends to give solutions on fewer movements. For this reason, Petrus method is often used in competitions which aims at achieving a minimum number of moves.
Basic solutions require learning algorithms to four or five, but are generally ineffective, requiring an average cube solving all about 100 rotations. By comparison the advanced method of learning requires approximately 120 Fridrich algorithms but allows the Cube solve on average in just 55 removal. A different kind of solution Heisenu using algorithms developed by Ryan, but rather is based on a set of basic principles that can be used to solve the cube in less than 40 movement. "Ultimate solution" (in English Ultimate Solution) by Philip Marshall is a variation of Fridrich's method, with only an average 65 rotations, but requiring memorization of only two algorithms.
Manual methods for solving the above are designed to be easy to learn, but they worked hard to find solutions and quick Rubik's Cube.
In 1982, David Singmaster and Alexander Frey hypothesised that the number of moves required to solve a Rubik's Cube, given an ideal algorithm, might be a little higher 20. In 2007, Daniel Kunkle and Gene Cooperman used computer search methods to demonstrate that any configuration of Rubik's cube 3 3 × × 3 26 can be solved in a maximum of moves. In 2008, Tomas Rokicka fell to 22 maximum removals. Continue attempts to reduce the maximum for optimal solutions.
The world record for a single test is owned by Erik Akkersdijk which in 2008 solved the cube in the Czech Open 7,08 2008 seconds. The world record for average time belongs to Tomasz Zolnowski with 10,63 second time in April 4 2009.

  1. Congratulations Dane, very hard tutorial. A year ago I managed to do just 2 sides of the cube but further bogged mam and I reununtat. I then used a real cube, I was ineva. No that never manage to resolve it, if I knew then these algorithms would have managed to solve the cube, I'm sure that would have remained panda

if you make your blog on their domain and not on your host and your own domain… if you have a blog like me named.wordpress.com then you just have to write interesting articles and wordpress takes care of your promotion, you don't have to you do nothing. possibly check in the administration panel if you have the option deactivated. Go to the left on Aspect then on Extra and see that the 3rd box is not checked “Hide the links related to this bog, this means that this blog will not appear on other blogs and will not gain traffic in this way. "

Hi, excuse me, but it seems like a childish tutorial or a waste of time, I don't want to upset Dan, but you don't want to misunderstand me either. And please don't block or jump all over me to throw bad words at me but this tutorial makes me think you have no more tutorial ideas. I would like to say once again that I appreciate what you are doing. Dan nute upset I just said what I had to say. Okay, you're going to say, "BUT YOU KNOW HOW TO MAKE THAT CUBE," I admit I don't know. Excuse me for this comment and once again I respect what you do.

  10. UAU!
to me it seemed a bit complicated :))
I do not have much patience for you to solve rubik cube :))
frankly wonder how I survived to watch this tutorial I usually much patience :))
Good luck in the content, I thought it was a lot of work in this tutorial
and explanations and further aja orcum you note 10 successfully!

  11. Mornin',

The tutorial is very interesting… I also met the "magnificent cube" but I never managed to figure it out…

Now after viewing the tutorial I will try to see if I will be successful, after I will apply those algorithms to bring it to "perfect shape". I am aware that I will have to view the tutorial until I catch the steps better… but it is a challenge for me to solve it.

    Good luck in further tutorials.
    A good day.

super tutorial, but you said a lot of times which is the front, the back… etc etc etc

    • andreidcn: Super tutorial, but you said a lot of times that is the face, back ... etc etc etc

That was the idea, because it was very important to know which is F, B, D, U, R, L… That's why he repeated so many times… and did well… 😀

  19. Nice. There 26ani and since I was a kid I liked the Rubik's Cube, that we got to do it in about 15-20min. The law using a cumbersome solution, first bring the 8 corners in order and then do cross.
    Anyway great solution.

  20. Interestingly tutorialul.Cu nou.Multumim this occasion I learned something for the effort.

  21. Mr. Dan thank you for the tutorial! Honestly what I really found to waste my time when I do. However there is a real cubes problema.La if we take the reference down-up is blue white yellow means that at the program. Sincerely,

I was at a camp and he was a big boy who gave Rubic cube and all the girls were amazed and praise.
I was so angry and I struggled all day to solve the cube without formulas and we did.
Next time I'm going to brag and the cube magic that attracts girls.
    Sir Dan!
    Thanks and Happy Holidays!

  23. but what movie did you say you saw with the Rubik's Cube… tell me your name please

It is the first tutorial you really understand it. I purchased a cube, I knew nothing about it, I simply searched for tutorials but I did not understand any of it. I was lucky after 2 days of failed attempts to find this tutorial and forget that one day we managed to solve the cube. Thank you for explanations !!

  29. It's very good tutorial and it's the only one I was able to follow him and do the cube. Bravo to him that he did!

Thanks and congratulations for the most successful tutorial. I have followed other tutorials but this is the best.

  31. Well done Cristiane! Like the ones above, I looked for a logical solution on other tutorials as well. but I let myself be harmed… With your help, however, I managed what seemed almost impossible. Thank you !
