What is the New Features 2024 in Google Maps tutorial about?

In today's video tutorial ( New Features 2024 in Google Maps ) I'm going to show you some new features introduced by Google in Maps

Immersive routes or routes assisted by AI

When you want to go from one place to another, Google Maps makes the most suitable route for you and guides you.

With the Immersive Routes feature, Google has managed to give another dimension to navigation routes.

With the help of AI, a route seen from above is generated, with 3D buildings, with moving cars, birds, weather phenomena, etc., all generated by AI

*this function is only available for big cities, for now

Weather and air pollution levels

If we approach an area on the map with zoom, we will see that a small border with the weather forecast appears on the left side. If we move we will see that the temperature changes.

If we do the same thing on the maps of Western Europe and America, we will see that the air quality also appears under the weather, and if we click on the air quality, the whole map will change its color and become a heatmap, with colors from green to red , depending on the air quality

*in Romania, the air health part does not appear yet

Revisiting certain places from past years on Google Maps

It's very interesting to see how some places have changed over the years

Google, with the images taken by their cars on the streets of the world, has collected a huge database.

Using all these images, they provided us with a kind of history of the area.

I saw something interesting in the tutorial. I'm referring to the fact that on some streets in LA California, in 2007 there were fewer street people in that area. I drew the conclusion from the fact that in certain intersections that are now full of tents, there were not so many then.
