Today I will try to explain the differences between RAW and JPEG format, so you can choose the right format in the right situation.
What is RAW?
RAW format is a container that contains all the data captured by the sensor (metadata) without any modification and without any color profile. These data can be easily modified in photo editing software and the result is much more than that JPEG quality. RAW format can have multiple extensions, depending on the camera manufacturer:
NEF = Nikon
CRW, CR2 = Canon
RAW RW2 = Panasonic
PEF, PTX = Pentax
Olympus ORF =
SRF SR2 = Sony
DMG = Adobe
What is JPEG?
JPEG format is part of the lossy formats. These formats are designed for data compression, most often to compress data more efficient algorithms resort to giving up large amounts of data, because they can not be easily perceived by the human eye.
In the "chase" for as little space as possible, the algorithms used in JPEG encoding throw large amounts of nuances, details that can lead to alteration of the final product.
I recommend that you always use "JPEG Fine" for the best result.
Careful.
Each manufacturer has different algorithms for JPEG encoding, in conclusion, the results will be different even if you picture the same scene.
What format is best to use?
In most cases JPEG is good enough but there are times when we need RAW to capture unique moments.
You should know that the RAW format, even if they consume space on the card can be easily edited and the results will make you feel like real professional photographers.
RAW is a format that you must use it. Keep it on hand camera processor.
Get involved more, shoot RAW and you will not regret it!

[…] Too big, takes up too much space on the camera card and hard disk. But here's something else: Get more involved, shoot RAW and you won't regret it! No good, more […]
and the phones are going the same thing.?? I have a HTC 8 mg room and saw that do 2 folders you put the photos, the original of 115 KB jpg and other same pictures but have a smaller size and same 7,9 KB jpg format.
The smaller ones are cached…
Congratulations!
Even expect such a tutorial
The thumbnails are small, some small pictures to quickly display in the gallery.
If you want to view a picture you tap the thumb and open your picture.
If you were to check the first picture you'd eat RAM immediately.
For a more objective comparison, it may have been better not to have applied the sharpness effect to the RAW version, or to have set the same value for jpeg. However, even so the differences are obvious. It can't be otherwise, because the raw data from the digital sensor is stored on 16 bits, which means that the file has 65.536 brightness levels, unlike jpeg which is on 8 bits, respectively 256 brightness levels. I wonder if there are video cameras that can record in a similar format, although in this case the resulting files would be monstrous in size…
Hello Cristi have a problem with my website. I can access it and works very fine on their subdomain, but when I put my domain on their ip I chose Host A does not work then I tried CNAME and put the page address from the host and subdomain that is still not working. Nobody knows how to help me…
That could help you have to understand.
Specify clearly what you did, where did you hosting site where you held before, etc..
The shared IP hosting is shared for multiple domains.
There are cameras that can shoot RAW, unfortunately very expensive and are used only in cinema. Red Epic and Arri Alexa are the best examples, unfortunately they do not stick to non-15.000 20.000 euros.
Amateur just what came out a beta version of Magic Lantern firmware, it enables shooting RAW on Canon 5D Mark3. Images are great but you need super fast cards as data come in very large quantities.
hello guys please make tutorials about windows 8.1 Enterprise Preview barely released and still coming back luck
I don't know if it's allowed to post links here, I have free hosting of 100 GB monthly bandwidth and 10 GB of space (I don't need much, it's enough for me, it moves very well for a free hosting, I could say that it clearly competes with those with money of 2, 4, 5 euros) in CPANEL on the right I have IP Address: 93.188.160.55 servername and server ip. But I found a free domain and I can't put my domain on this IP at all, because it says account unavailable. I can't even do Forward or I don't know what else. Probably the hosting will not be good. Anyway, if I ping my address, it responds without any problem 2 ms or 1 ms without any data loss, so everything is perfect. I'm asking for tests that I can't put that free domain on this ip, I chose host A and other options but nothing. Could it be a hosting error? Or do I have to make an artifice? I didn't set it up right?
On serversfree.com I did have Php 4 account and more.

Thank you Cristi for your advice, I really appreciate those like you, who also teach others what I know, I don't care just for them. My opinion is that RAW is good only for those who want to edit and correct pictures, who only pose from time to time for domestic use, I don't think it's worth the investment… ..I use Nikon D7000 and D5000 fast cards of 16 GB and I have a pretty good pc from Dell with i7 processor, 8gb rams…. and honestly there would be more to invest. Then in vain you work and edit the pictures, there are people who do not see any difference, I have met many cases.
Congratulations for exposing how the tutorial, you deserve the status of Guru.
Let's see what wonders come in Lightroom :)
Changing the picture in RAW you can keep the same quality and jpg? How do I get raw quality accessible to all.
Talk to people from hosting and tell them what is happening, it's hard for someone outside to solve your problem without knowing all the details. Therefore there service support.
From RAW you can do what you want, you can change some things even after you took the picture. If it is printed in JPEG file, you can not recover data that no longer exists.
It often results from RAW to JPEG is better than JPEG from the camera.
I advise you to buy a paid hosting package, that's because you and much better support and service.
As an idea, you should know that there is nothing free in this world…
On this free hosting you will pay in the end, in one way or another…
No answer from the hosting, I tried that and the tickets but in vain. It is hosted in USA not in Romania. Do you think this is an error from ip?
I know I paid ads and accessing these ads in Cpanel's of them get their money in their accounts. But good is good speed moves only are errors.
Tutorials about Windows 8 when are you doing? I really like this operating system and I want to know more about it….
Mr. Cismaru, for two years, being retired, I discovered the secrets of the computer. I honestly admit, many of what you wrote were of real use to me. ,SINCERE CONGRATULATIONS "! and many thanks. And to some of those like you I would like to use the names in Romanian, not only in English.
